Here I have
tried to explain step by step procedure to install RCU utility version 11.1.1.7.0
for OBIEE 11g.
This is a prerequisite
before installing OBIEE 11g in your machine and has to be done after you have installed
a database.
I have taken
these screenshots while installing the RCU on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop, so
the entries I have given on this installation may vary depending on your laptop
configuration.
Step1: Go to
the OBIEE 11.1.1.x downloads page in oracle.com and accept the license
agreement. Once you accept the agreement, all the download links will enable.
Step2: Scroll
down to the list of RCU files and click on the Link for Microsoft windows
64bit, it may ask your Oracle user name and password and will start downloading
the files for RCU install.
Step3: Once
the zip file is downloaded, extract the files.
Step4: Once
the files are extracted into a single folder, Navigate to the path shown in
below screenshot and run the RCU batch file.
Click Run
below.
Step5: Screenshots till next step are self-explanatory, select the options shown on the
screenshots and click next.
Step6: Fill
in the Database information in the next step, I have installed Oracle 11g
server version on my laptop, so I have given that information here.
You can refer
the TNSnames.ora file for entering above information. Click next once you enter
all the information.
Step8: Select
Oracle Business Intelligence in the next step as you want to create schemas and
tables only store OBIEE metedata and Click next.
Step9: enter
the passwords for the schemas going to be created. Better to select User same
password option.
Step10: Click
Create and Click close once done.
